Blog Lore

Photo of Maura on the computer in bed, where most of us read our updates every morning.

I read a lot of blog posts every week.  I started when we were living in our fifth wheel.  When moving from town to town I found connections with people I’ll never meet or talk to.  I was invited into their lives, shared their interest and learned from their experiences and talents.  The internet  is a marvelous thing!

My personal computer partner

I’ve decided to share some of these blog posts on a regular basis.  I needed a name so I started looking at word definitions and synonyms for the word “Review”.  A string of words gave me the term “Lore”.  According to Google, the meaning is: “a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.”  That was the word I was looking for. Why research a a subject when somebody else has done it for you and is willing to share their knowledge for free?  The meaning of knowledge is: facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

Okay…ENOUGH ALREADY!

View of the bridge in Florence from the waterfront
Went to Florence yesterday with my friend Bev and we poked around in the shops on the waterfront.  Came across a sign with this saying:
“When you get to the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on!”

Its raining here in Waldport but its supposed to clear up and be sunny by Tuesday.  Maybe we can stain our deck!.  This living on the coast has a learning curve.  We thought we would have done all three decks by now, but it looks like we only may get this one done.  We’re camping during the month of September and by October the rain usually hits in earnest.  Now I know why other people’s decks look tired.  Its almost impossible to find enough sunny days to get them stripped and stained.  Our backs appreciate it though.  Swabbing the deck is tough!
